SAR Funding – A Montana experiment with recreation fees

Montana’s trying to fund SAR through Recreation fees, but the idea does not seem to be very popular.

    I think there is a commonly encountered hatred of recreational fees as well as some question as to the allocation of funds actually persisting or not.

    Traffic fines are sometimes mandated for purchasing schoolbooks. And no one really considers library fines to be anything but a donation… but institute a recreational fee and there are often real problems.
