An injured hiker in Oregon’s Columbia Gorge is with rescuers but in bad shape.
Its the pelvis injuries that are the problem. Rugged terrain and approaching darkness are not fun for the rescuers but the pelvis is highly vasculated and blood loss can be a problem far beyond any orthopedic problems. Cell phone, heavily travelled trail. Shouldn’t be much of a problem.
Hopefully will turn out ok…I factured my pelvis in 5 places and my femur in 3…it is heavy trauma to the body. I can’t imagine being isolated for any length of time in that condition…aye yi yi!
