Nikki Ruiz search continues this weekend on Mount Tamalpais, CA

See Family website: http://www.helpfindveronicaruiz.com/  for more information and for tip reporting phone and info.
I just got this note from a friend of the Ruiz family, who are still looking for Veronica “Nikki” Ruiz after her disappearance from/on the Mount Tamalpais area in Bay Area, CA.

They are going to have a big effort on Saturday and Sunday and are in need of :

- People that are experienced hikers to go off the tracks (maybe you know hiking or mountain climbing clubs)

- Search and Rescue dogs and their owners

- Companies to donate breakfast, coffee and lunch for the volunteers

- Corporation to sponsor reward money for any information leading to the finding of Veronica

- Surveying airplanes or helicopters

- People within Yahoo to unlock the Yahoo email account. They have suspended the account and have been unresponsive for almost a week now.

- News coverage, TV station contacts, news papers etcetera

- Any practical ideas are really welcomed

Veronica’s cell phone signal, now off, confirmed that she is really on Mount Tam.

Do you have any authoritative information about that cell phone signal? I somehow distrust family websites, particularly once psychics become involved.

FG – no, that came from the woman who sent me the note … I think all they have is a call from the mountain the day she went missing.

  3. FoolsGold says:

A call that was logged at cell towers as being from there or a call wherein she stated that she was there?

Ofcourse the important data is the cell phone pings AFTER she went missing and people were trying to call her.

A body of a female has been found as a result of a routine training exercise that had been scheduled to take place in an area that the Search and Rescue team had thought might prove fruitful in the search.

Death is described as ‘suspicious’ and body is noted as being in a place concealed from view of passersby on nearby trails. Its so far not incompatible with a suicide which is what authorities seem to have assumed took place after they learned of the recent break up with a live-in boyfriend. It is ofcourse a possibility but I think there was too quick a determination to downgrade the search.

    From the article:

“The body of a woman found Sunday on Mount Tamalpais is missing Internal Revenue Service agent Veronica “Nikki” Ruiz, the Marin County Coroner’s Office reported Tuesday afternoon.

An autopsy conducted Tuesday revealed that Ruiz died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Her IRS-issue service weapon was found by her side and her U.S. Treasury Department photo I.D. card was found in her purse located near her body.

Dental records provided by the family provided further confirmation.”
